  the hostel charged us 450 pounds for a train ticket to Aswan, while the ticket is just 250. they said it's like a fee or something to buy train tickets for foreigners. it was our first stop in Egypt and we didn't have any experience back then so we just went with 450 pounds for a train to Aswan. but during our following stats in Aswan, Luxor and Dahab, all our hostel host just bought us bus/train tickets for free. we just need to pay the price indicated on the ticket. I'm not sure if it's a thing about Cairo or this hostel, but that's definitely not pleasant. also, the overall environment is apparently worse then some rivals in the area.

  Staff were friendly, particularly a young man named Amar who works there at night, has got great conversation. Also clean. 100LE the bed.
