  The most disrespectful staff ever. They don't give you any information, and if they do, it's only half of the truth or downright wrong. They get easily suspicious, and throw you out of the queue, without giving you a chance to explain. Sometimes they demand proof of something, without telling you how to do so. I've been there 4 times with all the required documents, and I still haven't gotten my visa extended. Last time I tried, the only employee that handles tourist visa for western foreigners left early, There were literally NO ONE ELSE who could do her job! Terrible place!

  HELP FOR TOURIST VISA APPLIERS. You must bring: - Copy of you passport - copy of your Visa entry in your passport - copy of a residence contract - passport photo - it can help to have some sort of proof that you will be here for as long as you are applying for and no longer. - COME EARLY because you will need an application form that can be found on a counter close to the tourist visa office inside the building. They run out of them every day, and no they will not print more or let you copy the form or anything. HELLHOLE is not a strong enough word for this mess of a place. Nothing is under control. People working there will tell you to go here, and there and back to over there just to go back to here and nothing happens. Make sure you have all the things listed and be firm. People cheat in line. Hope this helps somebody as I would have loved to know this before I came to Egypt. After 5 trips to Satan's Mansion on Al Tahrir it looks like I will get my visa tomorrow.

  I have to go here every 3 month's to extend my visa. If you know the right way it can be done in maximum one hour. The visa extention is cheap and quick and no questions asked like European embassies do for a Schengen visa.
