::An important site in ancient times, easy to visit and lots of interest. Take your own drinks. Ongoing work means that there is always something to see.

::Interested in ancient Egypt history, especially the New Kingdom era? This is a must visit. You have to go inside. Don't be tempted by the view of the temple from the Nile bank. Going inside is much more fun. Please go with a guide, not a book.

::Conveniently located ruins in downtown Luxor. The fencing surrounding the ruins is low and doesn't hinder your general view of the structure. It's lit up nicely at night. I think Karnak impressive and worth paying the entry fee however you can see most of Luxor temple from the outside.

::One of the most important archaeological sites in the world. Unless you are an archaeologist or a history buff well versed in egyptiology then you can probably appreciate most of the monuments in about 90'. Depending on the time of year the sun can be very intense so water, hats and sunblock are a prerequisite.

::This one of the most beautiful temples in Egypt! Visit post sunset, stay from the dusk till night casts in. The structures and the ruins are amazing in the light. Don’t miss the open air museum, it really helps understand the dynasties arranged chronologically.
